A Socially Awkward, Poem-Reading Jelly Computer
A collaborative installation with Sarah Lynch-Jones at Chelsea College of Art. A jelly (yes, real jelly) encrusted computer is on a table
which can sense when it is picked up.
Separately, a web page continuously reads through a poem by Khalil Gibran ( Self Knowledge ).
However, it never gets it right and always makes mistakes.
Upon the jelly being picked up, the website gets uncomfortable with human contact, and becomes distressed.
An exploration of inefficiency, emotion and interconnectivity within our relationships with computers.
